The Hateful Left?

If you have ever watched a certain Fox News personality then you know his conclusion that the far left’s hate is much more dangerous than the far right’s. He contends that the left has an ally in the press, and that the right has been marginalized. Honestly it is a topic I hadn’t given much thought.   I hate generalizations.    This probably has to do with the fact that the military is seen as one block of people.     We are generalized by politicians’ comments or the latest front page news story. If you don’t agree, try telling someone who has no knowledge of the military that is isn’t really made up of the poor and uneducated when Charlie Rangel has the microphone.   Read the headlines that say “Man murders wife” and find out that it was a Veteran and odds are it will be deemed an epidemic.

Today I thought about the left and the Right. I saw the article about Democratic U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones condition, and then decided to get into my “feelings.” Was my first reaction to be hateful?    Did I wish her ill? Was I as a member of the hater club too? Let’s face it, it takes a lot of hate to cite “karma” as a reason someone gets Cancer.   I came to the conclusion I did not belong to this elite club.   I think Democrats are mis-guided, naïve utopians, but I don’t hate them. Do they make me angry?   Sure, but I wouldn’t wish a tumor, cancer, stroke or a brain hemorrhage on them. Democrats have children and relatives and death and misery are equal opportunists. I wondered why those on the leftist blogs do hate? Even though the left thinks all Conservatives are bible thumping Jesus Freaks, we aren’t. There are atheist, agnostics, humanists etc. Despite the rhetoric by Howard Dean, we are a diverse crowd. I think it has to do with moral relativism. We Conservatives are black/white good/evil thinkers. We are realists who know the world as it is. Think caveman speech.. America-good ---Everyone else-bad. I am okay with that, because when it comes to being hateful that simplicity of thinking is why the left is more hateful.   When death and illness strike, we don’t think of the complexities of karma and if the “lies of mass distortion” caused someone to get cancer. We think of a mother, father, brother or sister who is suffering.

We don’t ever wish someone dead. We don’t deal in the utiopian vision of “ how things should be. We deal in what is. Death comes to us all. That isn’t how things should be- It just is. We wish them the best, and if we are in a particularly foul mood we wish that they have to spend a day in “socialized medicine” during their treatments, but we never wish them dead.

God Bless Rep Tubbs Jones and her family. I will keep her in my prayers.
